Udaipur : Bhoomi Pujan of the two-lane elevated road to be built in Udaipur city will be performed on Monday. In the program to be held in the Municipal Corporation, the bhoomi pujan of Udaipur’s ambitious project of about Rs 137 crore elevated road will be done by Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria and the state’s UDH and Autonomous Government Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra. In the program, Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Udaipur City MLA. Tarachand Jain, Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, BJP City District President Ravindra Shrimali, Mayor Govind Singh Tank, Deputy Mayor Paras Singhvi and all the councilors will be present.
Know about two-lane elevated road
About 2.7 km long elevated road will be built from the City Railway Station of Udaipur city to Banshi Paan in front of the Collector Bungalow located at Court Square. Municipal Corporation Udaipur had floated a tender of Rs 179.14 crore for the construction. The estimated cost in the DPR was estimated at Rs 208 crore. 12 agencies participated in the tender. Transrail Lighting Private Limited, the agency with the lowest rate, agreed to build it for Rs 136.89 crore.
Hence the need for elevated road
At present, there is a daily pressure of about 69 thousand 268 vehicles on the Udiyapol to Collector residence road. It is likely to reach 80 thousand by 2025 and 1 lakh 14 thousand 869 by 2030.
There is a traffic jam from City Railway Station to Court Square. This includes Udayapol, Surajpol, Dehligate and Court intersection where there is a traffic jam.
Those coming from Paras Tirahe and Railway Station who have to go beyond Court Square will go directly through the elevated road.
