The rivers and drains of the city are overflowing. Due to this, the culvert located at Latiya Nala Bada Rajbagh in the old city suddenly broke on Thursday morning. When this accident happened, a school bus was passing through that culvert. Suddenly the culvert broke and it fell into the drain. Local people reached the spot in a hurry and took the people out safely.
4 youths drowned in drain, 1 rescued
However, four people were swept away in the drain due to the collapse of the culvert. One youth was saved by the local people. But they could not save the remaining three people. All the people who were swept away are said to be residents of Hammal Mohalla. Local people told that the city bus stand is located near the culvert. At present, there is a flood-like situation in the city. Water is coming in the city with great force. Due to this, the administration team is also not able to reach the spot. The place where this accident happened is the Latiya drain flowing in the middle of the city, in which water is flowing with great force.
Holiday for schools from 1st to 12th standard
According to the administration, all the waterfalls and streams of Ranthambore are overflowing. Water is flowing in Chambal, Banas, Galwa and Moral rivers with high inflow. 18 dams of the district are full. At present, many areas of the district are submerged due to heavy rains. Many houses in Sherpur Khilchipur including the lower areas of the district headquarters are filled with water. In view of the heavy rains, the Sawai Madhopur District Collector has declared holiday in schools from 1st to 12th. The DM has asked all the officials to remain alert.
