Bikaner : The central team of the Health Department and the Bikaner Food Safety Team took a major action in the district and seized 4 thousand liters of suspected fake ghee of Vishwa brand in Kamala Colony. In the surprise action taken on the instructions of Food Safety Commissioner Iqbal Khan and Joint Director Dr. S.N. Dholpuria, 3 samples were collected for testing under the leadership of CMHO Bikaner Dr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta.
Warehouse seized in Kamla Colony
Dr Gupta said that this seizure action was taken on the warehouse located in street number 14 of Kamala Colony near Chaukhunti culvert of a shop named Jagdamba Store in Phad Bazaar. The action was carried out till night by Food Safety Officers Vinod Sharma, Amit Sharma and Devendra Ranawat of the central team from Jaipur and FSO Bhanu Pratap Singh Gehlot and Shravan Kumar Verma of the district food safety team.
Vishwa brand packing used
Dr. Gupta said that the inspection team got suspicious on finding desi ghee at very cheap price at Jagdamba store located in Phad Bazaar and took the trader to his warehouse located in Kamala Colony for inspection. Here Vishwa brand ghee was found in different sizes of packing like 1 liter, 5 liters, 15 liters, 800 ml, which was seized on the spot. 3 samples of different batches taken will be sent to the Public Health Laboratory for testing, based on the results of which further action will be taken. Till then the said ghee cannot be sold.
