Jhunjhunu News Desk: Continuous action against corruption is going on in Rajasthan. Based on the complaints of people from different districts of the state, the team of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) is cracking down on bribe taking government employees and officials. In this series, a big news came out from Jhunjhunu district late on Tuesday evening. Anti Corruption Bureau in Jhunjhunu district, while carrying out a major trap operation, arrested Khetri SDM Banshidhar Yogi red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. Banshidhar Yogi is an RAS officer. Only one and a half months ago, he had come to Khetri as SDM.
Jaipur ACB had received complaint against Khetri SDM
According to the information received, ACB had received a complaint against Khetri’s SDM Banshidhar. Jaipur ACB team first got the verification done on this complaint. After verification, the complaint was found to be correct and late on Tuesday evening, Khetri’s SDM Banshidhar was arrested red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh.
Bribe was demanded to maintain land degree records
The team took this action under the leadership of Jaipur ACB ASP Pushpendra Singh Rathore. According to the information received from ACB, a bribe of Rs 5 lakh was demanded from the complainant in exchange for maintaining the degree records of the land. After much negotiation, the deal was finalized for Rs 3 lakh. Actually, bribe was demanded for transfer of name in the land document. ACB is examining other documents and evidence. The action took place under the leadership of ACB ASP Pushpendra Singh.
SDM arrested red handed taking bribe of Rs 2 lakh
But in the meantime the complainant had complained about the matter to Jaipur ACB. On the complaint of the complainant, ACB got the complaint verified on 25 November. A bribe amount of Rs 1 lakh was taken during verification. Then on Tuesday, ACB arrested SDA Banshidhar red handed while taking bribe amount of Rs 2 lakh from the complainant.

A crockery set was also found during the trap operation of ACB. ACB officials said that now further action is being taken. The arrested bribery officer Khetri SDM Banshidhar is being interrogated. Besides, a search operation will also be conducted at their hideouts. If more property is found from the SDM’s hideouts, then a case of disproportionate assets will also be registered against him.
ADM Banshidhar had come to Khetri from Bhilwara one and a half months ago.
Banshidhar Yogi was appointed to the post of Khetri SDM on 18 October 2024 itself. He came to Khetri after being transferred from Bhilwara. Before this, Banshidhar had also held the post of Tehsildar in Khetri from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, he was promoted to Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS).
