Jaipur : Preparations are being made to conduct the Rajasthan State Open Board examinations on a new pattern. For the first time, the board will conduct On Demand Exam (ODE). The board conducts 10th-12th examinations twice a year. Along with this, now exams will also be conducted every month. Rajasthan will be the first state in the country to conduct exams on this pattern. On Tuesday, a one-day orientation workshop for the heads of reference centres of Rajasthan State Open School was organized in the Birla auditorium. On this occasion, Director of Education Ashish Modi said that the directorate has started preparations for the on-demand exam. Some students want to appear for the exams as soon as possible to get their degree.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar gave indications
Education Minister Madan Dilawar has indicated that now the 10th and 12th exams will be held every month instead of twice a year. With this change, Rajasthan will become the first state in the country to implement the on-demand exam system. Under this new system of State Open School started in 2005, now students will get a chance to take the exam every month instead of twice a year.
Students will be able to take the exam as per their convenience
It is worth noting that currently, the 10th and 12th exams are conducted between March to May and October to November. This change will give more flexibility to the students and they will be able to take the exam as per their convenience. This process will be implemented only after the software is ready. Till now the exam was conducted twice a year.
What does on-demand exam mean?
The concept of ODE is an important step in open and distance education. The basic concept of on-demand examination is that a student studying in Rajasthan State Open can take the exam whenever he feels ready or comfortable to take the exam. Let us tell you that this system was first started by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). NIOS re-launched ODE for secondary level students in the year 2005.
