Kota : Kota: Suddenly the cable on the electricity pole caught fire and explosions started. People informed the officials of private power company KEDL. Even after this, no personnel from KEDL reached the spot for an hour. Local people brought the fire under control by pouring water from buckets. After an hour, KEDL personnel reached the spot and stopped the electricity supply. The incident took place behind Bhimganjmandi police station in Dadhwada area of Kota city. Due to the incident, nearby houses and shop meters were also burnt.
Local resident Mahendra Chaudhary said – The incident happened around 6:30 in the morning. Suddenly a thick cable caught fire in the electric pole in front of the house of former councilor Vikas Chaudhary Lala. Due to the fire, other cables on the pole also got affected. Due to the fire, the people of the colony came out of their houses in fear. Called KEDL officials. Not a single officer picked up the phone. Here, explosions kept happening due to fire. People tried to extinguish the fire by throwing water from buckets.
The transformer is installed at a distance of 100 to 150 meters from the electric pole. The lower portion of the transformer also caught fire. The local people somehow extinguished the fire. Electricity supply continued until KEDL personnel arrived. After an hour, KEDL personnel came to the spot and stopped the power supply. Mahendra Chaudhary told- There is a tire shop near the electric pole. It was fortunate that the fire did not reach the shop. Otherwise a big accident could have happened. Meters of nearby houses were burnt due to cable fire on the electric pole.
