Jaipur : The map of state urban bodies (Rajasthan Map) changed on Monday. The state government has converted Bhilwara and Pali Nagar Parishad into Nagar Nigam. Now there are 12 Nagar Nigams in the state. Its orders were issued by the Department of Autonomous Governance. The state already has two Nagar Nigams each in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota, besides Ajmer, Bikaner, Udaipur and Bharatpur Nagar Nigams. The Department of Autonomous Governance has also upgraded three Nagar Palikas. Pushkar, Lalsot and Shahpura have been given the status of Nagar Parishad. Apart from this, Losal of Sikar, Taranagar of Churu, Mahwa of Dausa have been upgraded from fourth class Nagar Palika to third class. At the same time, Bandikui has been upgraded from third class to second class Nagar Palika. This change in the bodies will increase the grants received from the central and state government. The bodies will be able to increase the resources with the budget received.
These panchayats became municipalities
Kudi Bhagatsani in Jodhpur, Jamwaramgarh in Jaipur, Tiwari in Jodhpur, Dundlod, Sultana and Jakhal in Jhunjhunu, Sayla Panchayats in Jalore were given the status of Nagar Palika. Budget announcement was made in the year 2024-25.

Efforts are being made to merge two municipal corporations each in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota. The previous Congress government had created six municipal corporations in these three cities. After the BJP government came to power in the state, work is underway to merge one municipal corporation in one city.
