Big irregularities in mid day meal in Rajasthan, children’s health at stake

Chittorgarh : A shocking incident has come to light in Rajasthan. Where a dead frog was found in the mid-day meal in Giluand School of Chittorgarh district, creating a stir. About 300 school children could not get the mid-day meal due to the dead frog found in the Khichdi sent to the school by Akshaya Patra Foundation. The Education Department has formed a 3-member investigation committee in the matter. According to the information, primary and upper primary schools are run in the Government Higher Secondary School located in Giluand.

Dead frog found in khichdi

Akshaya Patra Foundation distributed Khichdi in the school for mid day meal to students from class 1 to 8. Khichdi was also distributed in 5 other schools around Gilund under the Mid Day Meal scheme. Before distributing Khichdi to the school children, the in-charge of Gilund school checked the Khichdi containers sent by Akshaya Patra Foundation. When he checked the Khichdi. The staff there was also shocked to see this sight. The Mid Day Meal in-charges of the other 5 nearby schools were informed and they were forbidden from distributing Khichdi to the children.

Food came for 300 children

The information about finding a dead frog in the Khichdi was given to the employees of Akshaya Patra Foundation upon which they reached the school and the Khichdi brought for about 300 school children from 5 schools was taken back. Due to not getting mid day meal, about 300 school children were sent home to eat. Khichdi was not distributed to the children. Meanwhile, on getting information about this matter to District Education Officer Primary Rajendra Sharma, a team of 3 officers of the Education Department was formed who will submit a 2-day report in this matter to the District Education Officer.
