Big news has come from Bisalpur Dam, the dam gates are about to open

Jaipur : Good news is coming early in the morning from Bisalpur Dam, which is the source of water for millions of people of the state including the capital Jaipur. Continuous inflow of water is going on in Bisalpur Dam. In such a situation, the gates of the dam are to be opened today. For this, the sound of hooter will reverberate in the surrounding area in a short while. The administration has given instructions to be cautious when the gates of Bisalpur Dam are opened. This time, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the people as the dam is close to overflowing for the seventh time. The gauge of Bisalpur Dam was recorded at 315.49 RL meter on Friday morning at 8 am. In such a situation, only 01 centimeter is left empty from the dam being full. It is believed that the dam will be completely full in the coming 2 hours and the gates of the dam can be opened between 9 and 10 in the morning. Water will be drained from gate number 8 and 9. The special thing is that this will happen for the seventh time in the history of Bisalpur Dam.

Administration on alert mode

The gates of Bisalpur dam are to be opened to drain out the incoming water. The administration is also on alert mode regarding this. Subdivision officer Manoj Kumar Meena has directed the officers to take necessary precautions. Assistant Engineer PWD has installed warning boards and barricading on the routes of traffic through Banas river downstream of the dam, such as Rajmahal to Botunda, Banthli to Kanwarwas, Rawat Mataji, Rajmahal to Santhli, near the septic wall on the main road of the dam and on other routes passing through the river. Along with this, the development officer is making people aware in the concerned gram panchayats.

When did the dam overflow

Bisalpur Dam was completed in the year 1996. Water was stored in the dam for the first time in the year 2004 and for the first time it overflowed on 18 August. After this, the dam overflowed on 25 August 2006, 19 August 2014, 10 August 2016, 19 August 2019 and 26 August 2022. But this time the dam has overflowed in September.

Bisalpur Dam at a glance

The total water level of Bisalpur Dam is 315.50 RL meter. In which 38.703 TMC water level is recorded. 21 thousand 300 hectares of land gets submerged in the full water level of the dam. In which a total of 68 villages get submerged. In which 25 villages get completely submerged while 43 villages get partially submerged in which only agricultural land gets submerged. After the construction of the dam, this time it will overflow for the seventh time after getting fully filled.
