Jaipur : The Airport Economic Regulatory Authority of India has more than doubled the User Development Fee (UDF) at Jaipur Airport. Now, a passenger flying from Jaipur will have to pay a fee of Rs 805, while visitors will have to pay Rs 345. This increase in fee has been made on the basis of development proposals of Rs 6000 crore of Jaipur International Airport Limited (JIAL).
UDF reduced on international departure
At present, the UDF on domestic departures is Rs 394 per passenger, which will increase to Rs 805 from August 1. Till now there was no UDF on domestic arrivals, but now a fee of Rs 345 will be charged per passenger. AERA has decided to increase this fee keeping in mind the infrastructure works to be done by JIAL in the next few years to enhance the convenience and safety of passengers. However, the UDF for international departures has been reduced from the existing Rs 1237 per passenger to Rs 980 per passenger from August 1 to March 31, 2025.
‘Fees change every 5 years’
Like domestic arrivals, UDF has also been imposed on international arrivals, which will be Rs 420 per passenger for the current financial year. According to a JIAL official, the fee is revised every 5 years at all airports in the country, but in the case of Jaipur, there was a delay of 2 years due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. The official said that this revision is done on the basis of development plans, which involve huge costs. JIAL is a subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited. In October 2021, it was handed over the operation of Jaipur Airport by the Airports Authority of India for 50 years.
