Bikaner : Khajuwala tehsil of Bikaner has become a hub of drugs these days. The situation has become such that heroin worth crores is being seized every day. Just two days ago, about 986 grams of heroin was recovered during the joint action of police and DST, whose value in the international market was estimated at Rs 9 crore. So far five people have been arrested in this case.
DST and BSF are doing joint operation
Khajuwala tehsil of Bikaner was once known as a big and best grain market. But now it is being recognized as a heroin supplying market. This area bordering Pakistan is now becoming known as a heroin hub. Along with police and DST, BSF also keeps conducting search operations continuously. But smugglers go ahead of them and become successful in their activities. These days, heroin worth crores has been seized and many people have also been arrested.
Police is taking action against smugglers
Bikaner Police Range IG Omprakash is serious on this issue from the beginning. Through continuous search operations, he has seized drugs worth crores and has also put many smugglers behind bars. They also talk about the neighboring country being behind drug smuggling. He says that the police do their work. But it can be successful only when there is support from the public also. In view of this, he started the innovation of Police-Public Panchayat so that inputs from drug smugglers could be obtained. His experiment has also been successful.
