Bikaner News Desk: Dengue viral fever is not leaving people behind in Bikaner district. The report received from the Medical College on Friday revealed 12 new positive cases. Of these, 10 are patients from Bikaner urban area and 2 from other districts. According to the Health Department, 893 positive cases of dengue have been reported in the last 11 months. Along with dengue, the number of patients with chikungunya symptoms is also increasing in PBM, District SDM and Satellite Hospital located in Gangashahar. But the surprising thing is that in the government data, not a single new patient of Chikungunya has been reported positive in the last one week.
Doctors are now giving chikungunya medicines to patients who come complaining of pain in hands, legs and knees. Pawan Sharma, resident of Gogagate, said that the district administration and health department need to take important steps regarding dengue. The way dengue and chikungunya are spreading in the city shows that the administration is not alert about it. Only paperwork is being done. The district administration and health department should run awareness campaigns about the symptoms, prevention and treatment of dengue.
