Bikaner Kisan Union expressed anger over the mismanagement of grain market

Bikaner : Bikaner Bharatiya Kisan Union delegation under the leadership of District President Shambhu Singh Rathod met Additional District Collector Dulichand Meena on Monday and expressed anger over the irregularities in the grain market. He submitted a demand letter stating the disorders prevalent in Bikaner and Khajuwala grain markets. ADM Meena also called Grain Market Secretary Naveen Godara in this talk. The administration assured to increase the facilities for the farmers, remove the goods of the traders from the warehouses and along with the Agriculture Department, take action against the pesticide shops running illegally in the grain market.

District President Rathore said that Shivdutt Sigad, Gopal Singh, Pyarelal Sain, Budhram, Sheraram Gudiya, Ram Singh etc. informed the district administration that Indira Rasoi is being run by occupying the farmers rest house of Khajuwala. At the entry gates of Khajuwala and Bikaner grain markets, farmers are not being given slips at the gate. In such a situation, there is no record of the arrival of their goods in the grain market. After evading tax, some traders directly buy the goods and load them in trucks. Mandi fee, GST and income tax are being stolen. Incidents of looting are taking place in grain markets along with farmers. In such a situation, a police post should be opened in Bikaner grain market.

There are no basic facilities for farmers in Bikaner grain market. The conditions of toilets, drinking water and rest rooms are bad. Traders have occupied the verandahs in the grain market. Due to this the farmer has to keep the goods in the open. Traders have also kept their goods on the common platform with tin shed. Dozens of shops selling pesticides illegally are operating in the grain market. Whereas for a pesticide shop, a license has to be obtained from the Agriculture Department. The foul smell of poison pervades the entire market. Which is having an adverse effect on the health of farmers.

District President Rathore said that the ADM and Mandi Secretary have assured action on all the matters. The ADM visited the grain market on Saturday without informing anyone and saw the situation himself. In the talks, grain market administrator ADM and market secretary have assured action.
