Bikaner: Now the map of wards of the city will change, the number will not increase.

Bikaner : 80 wards of Bikaner Municipal Corporation area will be delimited. The corporation has started its preparations and formed a team. These teams will re-delimit the boundaries of 80 wards in the corporation area as per the guidelines. The number of wards will not increase in this exercise. Changes can be made according to the objections regarding their boundaries. Besides, some changes may also be made to bring uniformity in the number of voters in the wards. Action for change will be taken as per the guidelines on ward area expansion.

Base year census 2011: In urban bodies, the work of ward formation and ward delimitation will be done considering the census of 2011 as the basis. The date wise program has also been announced by the government. According to the census of 2011, the population of Bikaner city is 6 lakh 44 thousand 406. Bikaner city is in the range of 5 lakh to 10 lakh in the number of wards determined on the basis of population. According to this, there can be only 80 wards here. Under the program issued by the Self Government Department, proposals for delimitation of wards will be prepared and published by December 30. Objections to the proposals will be taken from December 31 to January 19. The ward formation proposal along with the map and comments on claims and objections will be sent to the state government. This work will be done from 20 January to 9 February. The state government will resolve the objections and approve the proposals between February 9 and March 1.
