Bikaner officials who do not take groundnut procurement seriously may face punishment

Bikaner : Bikaner After complaints of non-purchase of peanuts at government support price in Bikaner district, the largest peanut producer of the state, the Central and State Governments have sought a report of the actual situation through CID. After this, CID officials reached the procurement centers and investigated the reality. Actually, 24 centers for purchasing peanuts are approved in the district. Procurement has not started yet at many of these centres. Also, earlier they were fulfilling their food needs by purchasing peanuts from only five farmers. After raising this issue in Rajasthan Patrika, 20 tokens were issued at some centers and 50 at others. But the farmers allege that these tokens are being issued to such people who, under the guise of farmers, are getting the peanuts purchased by the traders to be weighed.

It is noteworthy that the government support price has been declared at Rs 6 thousand 783 per quintal. Whereas in the market, traders are buying from farmers at a lower price of about Rs 2,000 per quintal. Due to not purchasing peanuts at the procurement centres, farmers are being forced to sell their goods to traders. Rajasthan Patrika raised the issue of peanut procurement prominently in its Sunday and Monday issues. Cognizance has been taken at the level of the Central Government and the State Government. Officials of Central CID and State CID, which report to the Central Government, have prepared and sent its report on Wednesday. It is believed that after this report, many officials related to the procurement system may be punished.

A delegation of Bikaner farmers, troubled by shortcomings in the procurement of groundnuts at the government support price, met District Collector Namrata Vrishni on Wednesday. Farmer leaders under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh made many demands including starting the purchase of groundnuts at all approved centres, issuing purchase tokens from 500 farmers daily at each centre, stopping infiltration in the purchase of groundnuts in the name of farmers by making fake Girdawari and shareholding agreements. Kept. Also warned that if the system of peanut procurement is not improved soon, the farmers will surround and demonstrate at the Collectorate. Under the leadership of District President of Bhakis, Shambhu Singh Rathore, by submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister, the Collector was informed that in the grain markets and at the peanut procurement centers of GSS Purchasing is not happening. The objective of the government is not being achieved due to the irresponsible attitude of government officials and employees. Demanded to start purchasing peanuts at all the 24 approved procurement centers in the district, issue 500 tokens daily at each center and send messages on the mobile phones of farmers. Also demanded to make adequate arrangements for gunny bags, warehouse and warehouse. So that contractors do not create obstacles in procurement under the guise of this.

Farmers demanded fixing of timings of government procurement centres. Currently, citing lack of time, contractors are also making illegal recovery from farmers. In Bikaner, two procurement centers are approved for secondary market and 12 bigha, but by running both at the same place, farmers are being harmed. He informed that the goods are not deposited in the warehouse on time. Due to this, due to WR not being deposited in Rajfed on time, the farmer gets late payment for his produce. This should be fixed. Gangs have become active in government procurement. They buy peanuts from farmers at throwaway prices from the market and sell them through fake Girdawari in government procurement. Those who are meeting Patwari traders by taking Girdawari in the name of bogus farmers and getting tokens deducted by posing as fake sharecroppers, should be investigated by the district level officials. Tehsil President Budhram Siyag, District Vice President Om Godara, Narpatdan, Advocate Gopal Singh etc. were included in the delegation.
