Bikaner News Desk: There is a possibility of blackening the pink bus service purchased in the name of women’s convenience in the markets and crowded places located in Bikaner Municipal Corporation area. In fact, since the buses were inaugurated with fanfare on November 26, these buses have been standing at the same place in the corporation main office premises. Till now the corporation administration has neither been able to take the four buses to the designated places nor has been able to ensure the facilities of electricity, water etc. required for the operation of these buses. The tenure of the elected board in the corporation has completed on 25th November. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the corporation administration to ensure the arrangements including operation of these pink buses, location etc. The special thing is that when the pink buses, which were much publicized in the name of buses, came out, even the common people were shocked to see that it was not a bus, it was just a model. It has all the facilities mentioned in it, but there is neither an engine nor any facility for electric charging.
Four pink buses have been standing in the corporation premises for about a week. Out of the two buses parked towards the construction section, one tire of one bus has deflated. One tire of the second bus has also started losing air. At the same time, discussions are going on among the common people reaching the corporation office regarding the parking of these buses here.
Wonder: It looks like a bus…but it is not
In fact, the corporation has prepared four mobile toilets for the facilities of women. These have been given a new look by simply preparing them in the shape of a figurine. From outside this mobile toilet looks like a bus, but in reality it is not a bus. It does not have engine, gear, differential etc. It cannot move on its own. They will have to be transported from one place to another by towing them with the help of some other vehicle.
Cost of Rs 83.24 lakh
Sakhi Sanitation Home (Pink Bus) has been prepared by the corporation for the facilities of women. Four buses have been prepared by the corporation. The cost of each bus is Rs 20.81 lakh. The corporation has prepared these four buses at a total cost of Rs 83.24 lakh.
Intention to operate with public participation
According to Corporation XEN Gopal Mund, a place has been seen to erect them near Ratan Bihari Park and Rajiv Gandhi Marg area. Necessary facilities for operation are also being ensured. Efforts are also underway to operate these pink buses with public participation.

The pink bus has facilities like baby feeding room, baby diaper change table, hand wash basin, two Indian and two western toilets, generator, sensor lights etc. They will be useful only if they are deployed at designated places and facilities like electricity, water, attendants etc. are ensured. It is noteworthy that this project was the dream project of the outgoing mayor, which was announced at the beginning of his tenure. It took full five years to complete, that too on the last day of the tenure.
