Bikaner Sadul Sports School struggling with lack of resources, hunger strike continues

Bikaner News Desk: The hunger strike started by Krida Bharti against the malpractices and irregularities prevailing at Sadul Sports School, the only residential sports school in Rajasthan, continued for the eleventh day on Thursday. Students and sports lovers took out a foot rally on Thursday demanding the district administration to solve the problems of the school. With the increasing public support and the cooperation of legal organizations, this movement has now become a topic of discussion outside Bikaner also.

Krida Bharti says that this movement is to give the sports talents of Rajasthan their rights and to improve sports education. Sports lovers took to the streets on Thursday in support of the hunger strike. The students took out a rally on foot from the Sports School to the Collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the Collector. In this memorandum he demanded improvement in sports education and basic facilities. Krida Bharti Vice President Danveer Singh Bhati has warned the administration that the hunger strike will continue until the problems of Sadul Sports School are resolved.

Bikaner Bar Association also supported this movement. Bar President Raghuveer Singh Bidawat reached the protest site and showed solidarity with the protesters. In the memorandum submitted to the Collector, it was told that there is a shortage of sports trainers here. There are sanctioned posts of trainers for 12 sports in the school, but at present 10 posts are lying vacant. Because of this students are not getting quality training. Food and housing conditions need improvement. In 2007, the food allowance of the players was ₹100, which has not been increased till now. It should be reduced to at least Rs 300. The quality of accommodation and food in the school is very poor.
