Bikaner teacher 60, student to retire at 65, objection raised on retirement age

Bikaner : Bikaner Rajasthan government retires the guru at the age of sixty and sends him home but retires his student at the age of 65. Now the Guru has also been forced to approach the court. The matter is between a professor teaching in a medical college and his MBBS students, where the professor is going home at the age of just 60, but after doing MBBS, the government keeps the doctor on the job for 65 years. All the government medical colleges of the state including Bikaner. The college professor has filed an appeal in the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur and Jaipur, on which a notice has been issued to the concerned department. In fact, some professors and assistant professors teaching in medical colleges have MSc and PhD qualifications. These teachers only teach MBBS students. Whereas the students taught by him retire at the age of 65 after becoming doctors.

Appeals have been made in both Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur and Jodhpur. Professors holding MSc and PhD from SMS Medical College, Jaipur, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer and Government Medical College, Kota have appealed to the Jaipur High Court to end the inequality. Similarly, in Jodhpur High Court, M.Sc.P.H.D of SP Medical College Bikaner, Sampoornanand Medical College Jodhpur, RNT Medical College Udaipur. The holder staff has appealed. On the basis of these appeals, both the courts have issued notices to the state government and sought its reply.

Earlier, the demand of retirement age equal to that of MBBS doctors was first raised by the dental doctors. Considering this as justified, the High Court had made their retirement age equal to that of medical doctors. After this, Ayurveda doctors also got this demand fulfilled. Now the MSc and PhD qualified teachers teaching these teachers are also demanding increase in the retirement age.
