Bikaner: Tokens issued to purchase peanuts to 2711 farmers

Bikaner : Bikaner Rajfed has been affected by continuously publishing ground reports on the non-smoothness of the groundnut procurement system at government support price. Rajfed has so far issued 2711 tokens to the farmers for the sale of groundnuts. Also, the gunny bags and other arrangements at the procurement centers have been reviewed. Rajfed regional officer Shishupal Singh said that the procurement of groundnut has been started for 90 days from November 18. 25 purchase centers are approved under ten purchasing and selling cooperative societies of the district. Adequate gunny bags have been arranged at all the centres. Gunny bags are being supplied through NAFED Kolkata. Peanuts are being stored in the warehouses of the Central Warehousing Corporation. At the tehsil level, purchasing and selling is being done through cooperative societies and village sales cooperative societies.

The regional officer said that Rajfed Jaipur has allotted days to 2711 farmers for the purchase of groundnuts. 40 quintals of peanuts will be purchased from each farmer. Criteria have been set regarding quality in government procurement. To help the farmers, Rajfed has issued helpline number 18001806001. Farmers can also get information related to procurement from this number.
