Jaipur : Rajasthan’s largest drinking water project Bisalpur Dam overflowed on Friday. Due to the continuous inflow of Triveni in the dam, its maximum gauge has reached 350.50 meters. Now the process of opening its gates is being started. Till June 15 this year, the water in it was 309.39 RL meters. But, after the heavy rains in August, there was continuous inflow of water in the dam due to which it crossed the level of 315. In the last 24 hours, about 0.50 meters of water has arrived in the dam. On Thursday morning, the water level in the dam crossed 315 meters. After this, it reached 315.49 at 6 am on Friday and now till the time of writing the news, it has reached the level of 315.50.

The main purpose of this dam is to supply water to Tonk district as well as to reserve it for irrigation. Apart from this, water is also supplied to Jaipur and Ajmer. In Tonk district, 8 TMC water has been reserved for irrigation and 16.2 TMC water for drinking purposes. Apart from this, 8.15 TMC water has been considered for evaporation and other expenses.
1000 MLD consumption in drinking water
About 950 to 1000 MLD water is being supplied from Bisalpur dam every day for drinking water in Tonk, Ajmer and Jaipur districts. This is providing drinking water to about 2000 cities and villages in the three districts.
The water level of Bisalpur, the largest dam supplying drinking water in Rajasthan, has crossed 315.25 meters. Deoli SE Dam Circle Virendra Singh Sagar says that the inflow of Triveni water in the dam is continuing and its gates are likely to open by tomorrow morning.
