Jaipur : Due to rain in the catchment area of Bisalpur Dam in Rajasthan and continuous inflow of water in Triveni river, the water level of the dam crossed 315 RL meter on Wednesday midnight. At 12 midnight, the water level of the dam was recorded at 315.01 RL meter. Whereas the water filling capacity of Bisalpur Dam is 315.50 RL meter. According to the engineers of the Water Resources Department, the way water is coming into the dam now, it is expected to overflow this week. Now there is enough water in the dam to meet the drinking water needs of Jaipur city’s population of 50 lakhs.
51 crore liters of water is being supplied every day
Due to the availability of water, water can be easily supplied to the population of about 3 lakhs of Jagatpura Phase-2 and Prithviraj Nagar Phase-1 project without affecting the city’s water supply. Currently, 51 crore liters of water is being supplied to Jaipur city daily from the Bisalpur system. Now it is expected that in a day or two, water cuts will stop completely and 55 crore liters of water will be supplied daily as before.
