BJP is bringing ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal to divert attention from current issues: Awadhesh Prasad

New Delhi, December 10 (IANS). On speculation that the Central Government will introduce a bill related to ‘One Nation-One Election’ in the current session of Parliament, Samajwadi Party MP from Ayodhya Awadhesh Prasad alleged that BJP is trying to divert attention from issues like farmers’ issue, unemployment, inflation, census etc. There is talk of bringing such a bill for.

Speaking to IANS, Awadhesh Prasad said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has not taken any concrete steps on the immediate and sensitive issues – like the issue of farmers, unemployed youth, inflation, census etc. – and is unable to resolve them in the national interest. It has been a complete failure. Therefore, things like ‘One Nation, One Election’ are being raised to divert people’s attention from these important issues. Can this government claim that one nation can conduct one election? If a seat is lying vacant for five months and we are not able to hold elections on it, then how can this imagination be possible? “I don’t think they’ll be able to do it successfully.”

On reports of cracks in the ‘India’ block, he said, “We do not think that there is any crack in the ‘India’ block. ‘India’ block was not formed to create cracks, but it was formed for a larger purpose. Bharatiya Janata Party is taking the country into trouble, and ‘India’ block has been formed to save it. All these things are related to the matters between the big leaders of the party, but ‘India’ has been formed. There are no cracks in the block.”

On Mamata Banerjee expressing her intention to preside over the ‘India’ block, he said, “We do not talk based on imagination. The opposition says that Mamata Banerjee wants to become the Prime Minister, but we do not talk about it. This Mamata Banerjee It may be her personal opinion that if this happens, she will take such a step. We do not talk about anyone, because everyone has the right to their opinion and it can be their personal opinion.”
