Speaking to IANS, Awadhesh Prasad said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has not taken any concrete steps on the immediate and sensitive issues – like the issue of farmers, unemployed youth, inflation, census etc. – and is unable to resolve them in the national interest. It has been a complete failure. Therefore, things like ‘One Nation, One Election’ are being raised to divert people’s attention from these important issues. Can this government claim that one nation can conduct one election? If a seat is lying vacant for five months and we are not able to hold elections on it, then how can this imagination be possible? “I don’t think they’ll be able to do it successfully.”
On reports of cracks in the ‘India’ block, he said, “We do not think that there is any crack in the ‘India’ block. ‘India’ block was not formed to create cracks, but it was formed for a larger purpose.
