Bhubaneswar, November 26 (IANS). BJP MLA Erasis Acharya criticized senior BJD leader Ranendra Pratap Swain’s statement in which he had targeted the BJP over the recent removal of the words ‘secular’ and ‘socialist’ from the Preamble of the Constitution.
Responding to the allegations while speaking to IANS, Erasis Acharya said, “Making an issue out of something which is not an issue and using it to create disruption in the Assembly has been a regular tactic of the opposition. They are disrupting parliamentary procedures and the functioning of the House.” Acting against the spirit.”
The BJP MLA further clarified, “We respect the words ‘socialist’ and ‘secular’, which were added to the Preamble of the Constitution in 1976. The case was challenged two years ago and the Supreme Court struck down these words. Ordered to be kept as is. There was no debate on this and no statement came from the BJP or the Central Government. The allegations are baseless and unsubstantiated.”
Today is Constitution Day. On 26th November we celebrate Constitution Day. We respect the original form of the Constitution. Today the best debate would have taken place in the Odisha Assembly. Matters in the interest of the people would have been put forward in the Assembly today. Today the opponents raise the issue of what the government has not done and what should be done. A law would be made against him. Today was not the day to close the assembly.
He said that Congress opposed the Constitution the most. Indira Gandhi imposed emergency in the country. Congress disrupted the basic theme of the Constitution. He urged the opposition to allow the House to function.
