Banswara : Mangarh Dham, the martyrdom site of tribals in Banswara, Rajasthan, is once again in the news. Just before the visit of President Daupadi Murmu, there has been a clash of words between the MPs of Banswara and Udaipur. In fact, Udaipur BJP MP Mannalal Rawat said that the fact that Saint Govindgiri was inspired to create a separate Bhil state mentioned in the class 9th book was wrongly mentioned and demanded the Chief Minister to remove it. Here, Banswara-Dungarpur MP Rajkumar Roat, elected from Bharat Adivasi Party, has called it an act of insult to the tribals.
What did Rawat write in the letter to CM?
In Chapter 4 of the class 9 book ‘Independence Movement and Bravery Tradition of Rajasthan’, on page number 42, it is written that ‘The oppressive behavior by the feudal and colonial power forced Govindgiri and his disciples to fight for the Bhils to get freedom from feudal and colonial slavery. Inspired to plan the establishment of the state. MP Rawat expressed deep objection to the above statement saying it was completely beyond the facts.
What did the MP say in response?
By talking about removing the facts related to Govind Guru Maharaj and more than 1500 tribals who were martyred at Mangarh Dham from the Class 9 syllabus published by the Rajasthan State Textbook Board, the Udaipur MP has insulted the martyrs and the tribal society. The coming generation will not forgive. It was Govind Guru’s dream to establish Bhil state and it will be fulfilled one day.
CMO had given orders on Rawat’s letter
The CMO sent the letter of the Udaipur MP to the Elementary Education Department and gave instructions to investigate the facts and take necessary action in the curriculum. However, CMO Deputy Secretary Jaiprakash Narayan has not clearly told the Education Department that this fact is wrong and to remove it. After the test, the Chief Minister’s Office has asked to take action as per rules and inform the MP also.
President is coming after three days
The country’s first tribal woman President, Daupadi Murmu, is coming to attend a program on October 4 at Mangarh Dham, known and famous as a place of faith for tribals. The President will honor youth, women and organizations working for tribal development and upliftment.
