New Delhi, December 4 (IANS). BJP national spokesperson R.P. Singh welcomed the Assam government’s decision to ban eating beef in public places. He told IANS on Wednesday that this step is in line with the country’s eternal civilization, where cow is given the status of mother. Banning beef was very important and Assam has taken the lead in this matter.
R.P. Singh said that in our Sanatan culture cow is considered as mother and consumption of beef is not appropriate in this country. The entire country welcomes this step of the Assam government and we hope that other states will also follow this decision. The ban on beef sends a message, which is important for the entire Sanatana Dharma followers. We hope that people of other religions will understand this step and think that when cow is worshiped as mother in Hindu religion, then how can beef be consumed? He further said that this step of the Assam government will promote reverence and respect for mother cow in the country.
He said that the issue of ban on beef will not be limited to Assam only, but it is an important message for the followers of Sanatan culture across the country.
It is noteworthy that Himanta Biswa government of Assam has decided to ban beef. The state government has banned eating and serving beef in hotels, restaurants and public functions in the state.
