Jaipur : Before the by-elections on 7 assembly seats of Rajasthan on November 13, the election campaign is at its peak in the hot seat Deoli-Uniara seat. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma as well as Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa from BJP have held public meetings. At the same time, Congress is also busy preparing for big meetings. Sachin Pilot himself is going to hold a big meeting in Uniara on 10th November. BJP has made Rajendra Gurjar its candidate in the by-election. Whereas Kastur Chand Meena is contesting the elections on Congress ticket. The big thing is that KC Meena is a local leader, but this will be his first election on the political pitch.
Naresh Meena made a triangular contest
On the other hand, Congress leader Naresh Meena, who is angry over not getting the ticket from Deoli Uniara seat in the by-election, is joining the independent bandwagon. He has given Congress sleepless nights by reaching every village with his team of youth. With the entry of Naresh Meena into the fray, Congress faces the challenge of winning the elections, but also after the nomination of Naresh Meena, there has been a triangular contest on this seat. In such a situation, the question is whether the pair of Sachin Pilot and Harish Meena will get a hat-trick of victory for Congress or because of Naresh Meena, BJP will win the by-election.
Will 65 thousand Meena voters become game changers?
For this it is important to understand some figures. Actually, there are a total of 3 lakh 2 thousand 721 voters in Deoli-Uniara seat. Of these, there are about 65 thousand ST-Meena voters and about 54 thousand Gurjar votes. In last year’s assembly elections, Harish Meena got 105001 votes on this seat, while the BJP candidate got 85826 votes. Harish Meena was elected MLA from Devli Uniara seat for two consecutive times in 2018 and 2023. After this, this time he became MP from Tonk Sawaimadhopur seat in the Lok Sabha elections.
The path to victory is not easy for Congress
Now when by-elections are being held for this seat after Harish Meena became MP, BJP presented a big challenge to Congress by fielding Rajendra Gurjar. Rajendra Singh Gurjar was MLA from this seat from 2013 to 2018. Apart from these two, Naresh Meena is also contesting the elections after rebelling against Congress after not getting the ticket. With Naresh Meena contesting the election, the path to victory will not be easy for Congress, because Meena and Gurjar voters will decide the path to victory for the candidates on this seat. Apart from this, Congress is going to face further challenge with the announcement of support of Rajkumar Roat and Hanuman Beniwal.
