New Delhi, December 12 (IANS). Delhi BJP has announced seven gifts in response to the five guarantees given by the Aam Aadmi Party to attract auto drivers to its side for the Delhi Assembly elections 2025. BJP has promised to provide free education to the children of auto drivers.
Recently, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal had invited auto drivers for tea at his home. After this, Arvind had gone to Kondli assembly constituency to have dinner at an auto driver’s house.
After this, Kejriwal had said that this relationship with the auto drivers of entire Delhi is close to his heart, which is both old and strong.
Soon after, the former Chief Minister of Delhi also gave five guarantees to the auto drivers, which included life insurance of up to Rs 10 lakh for each driver and accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for daughter’s marriage, annual allowance for uniforms. The government will bear the expenses of Rs 2,500 twice, coaching for children to prepare for competitive exams. The ‘Ask App’ will restart.
Recently, BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva met auto drivers outside Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station regarding these five guarantees of Kejriwal.
Virendra Sachdeva has said that in the last 10 years, auto driver brothers have been continuously cheated and treated in Delhi. One has to pay bribe to get the vehicle passed, challan and photo is taken while talking to the customer, and the corruption prevalent in the authority is flourishing under the patronage of Aam Aadmi Party. Auto drivers now want to live life with self-respect and dignity. He has decided that he will work together with the Bharatiya Janata Party and bring change.
BJP has announced seven gifts to bring happiness in the lives of auto drivers. This includes free school education and scholarship for higher education to the children of every licensed auto driver, life insurance cover to all auto drivers under Prime Minister’s schemes from 17 September 2025, benefit of Prime Minister Awas Yojana in case of no private residence, in all colonies of Delhi. This includes construction of halt and go stands for auto drivers and employment security by making auto drivers an important part of the last mile connectivity scheme.
BJP has said that those taking electric-auto rickshaws will be given electricity recharge assistance every month for two years. A committee will be formed in all the auto fitness centers of Delhi in which two auto driver representatives will be included so that corruption in fitness centers can be stopped.
