BJP’s ultimatum to AAP regarding Bhagat Singh’s statue

Chandigarh, 30 November (IANS). The delay in unveiling the statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh at Chandigarh airport has now taken a political colour. Recently, Punjab BJP leaders had accused Aam Aadmi Party of insulting Shaheed-e-Azam regarding this matter. Now BJP leader Kewal Singh Dhillon has given an ultimatum of 72 hours to the state government to unveil the statue. He said that if the state government has not unveiled it within 72 hours then he himself along with the common people of Punjab will unveil it on Monday.

Kewal Singh Dhillon said in the press conference, “We had held a press conference three days ago. The Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab started with the slogan of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. It has been three years since the government was formed, they Singh has also been cheated. The statue of Shaheed-e-Azam has been installed for a long time. We reminded the government and We have given 72 hours time that if the government does not unveil the statue of Shaheed-e-Azam, then we will unveil the statue of Shaheed-e-Azam along with the people of Punjab at 11 am on Monday. “The sacrifice has no value.”

He said that Aam Aadmi Party made a drama of Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice. Now we will directly salute Bhagat Singh. I don’t think the AAP government has made any preparations. First they ignored Punjab and now they are ignoring Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh also. Don’t know how many months that statue has been there. Now I am also coming to know that they are waiting for Arvind Kejriwal to unveil their statue. He came and went, but he has no time for Bhagat Singh.

The BJP leader said that if AAP leaders do not have time for Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, then who else will they have time for? I would like to tell the people of the state and the country that there is no sacrifice on Shaheed-e-Azam. That’s why we want to unveil it by taking along the people of entire Punjab. We will not unveil this statue ourselves, but will get it unveiled by the people of the state.
