Sikar : The shocking result of Haryana Assembly elections is being seen as silver in Shekhawati. BJP’s victory in Haryana has once again revived the hopes of canal water in the region. Because the MoU for Yamuna canal water in Shekhawati was possible in the month of February this year only when there was a single party government in the Centre, Rajasthan and Haryana. Whose DPR approved from Rajasthan was stuck in the election code of conduct in Haryana. But now when BJP government will be formed there, there will be more chances of getting consent on that DPR due to party equality. The election results have also increased the political shine of many BJP leaders of Shekhawati.
Will get opportunity for four years
Along with the Centre, Haryana and Rajasthan now have governments from the same party. Which will last for at least four years. Therefore, these four years will be most important for canal water in Shekhawati. If all three governments make efforts then Shekhawati can be drenched with Yamuna water in these four years.
Shekhawati is to get 1917 cusecs of water
An agreement for Yamuna water in Shekhawati was signed on February 17 this year in New Delhi between the then Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the then Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Under this, Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu and Neemkathana districts of Shekhawati are to get 1917 cusecs of Yamuna river flood water through underground pipe lines. This water is proposed to be provided for 123 days in the rainy months from July to October. Which will be stored and distributed throughout the year.
DPR is stuck for 21 years
The matter of DPR of Yamuna water is stuck for the last 21 years. Rajasthan had sent DPR to Haryana for the first time in the year 2003. After this, the revised DPR was sent in the year 2017 and again in the year 2021, but Haryana did not do anything. Taking a lesson from this, this time it was decided to form a task force to prepare a joint DPR. Which was formed in Rajasthan on 14 March.
The stature of BJP leaders of Shekhawati increased
The Haryana election results have also increased the stature of many BJP leaders who lost their political posts in the Assembly and Lok Sabha election results. The names of former state president Satish Poonia, former leader of opposition Rajendra Rathod and former Sikar MP Sumedhanand Saraswati are included among them. Among them, Poonia was Haryana election in-charge while Rathod and Saraswati were busy campaigning in the neighboring state as BJP leaders. Haryana’s victory has not only enhanced Punia’s prestige but also increased the political shine of these two leaders.
The magic of other leaders including Dotasara did not work
In the Haryana elections, PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasara’s Gamchha remained in the political discussions. He had also raised the slogan of political change in Haryana by waving a towel, but due to the government not being formed in Haryana, there is disappointment among the supporters and workers. Apart from the Churu MP, many Congress leaders also participated in the Haryana election campaign. Haryana election results have put hopes of Yamuna canal water on hold. Sujala Shekhawati Committee will now again intensify its canal efforts. There is full hope that Shekhawati will start getting Yamuna water during this tenure of the government. BJP’s victory in Haryana has opened the way for Yamuna water in Shekhawati. Now this work will be completed like a campaign.
