Pali : The court has sentenced 10 convicts, including 3 women, to life imprisonment in the 11-year-old murder case in Bhakriwala village of Rohat police station area of Pali district of Rajasthan. Additional District and Sessions Judge Sharad Tanwar gave the verdict in the case on Thursday, in which severe punishment was given to the persons convicted for the murder of Kunaram Bawri. Kunaram was murdered just for two feet of land.

According to the information, the deceased Kunaram Bawri (52) was having a dispute with the family of his uncle Bhagchand Bawri regarding 2 feet land. On June 23, 2013, uncle Bhagchand along with his family members attacked Kunaram with sticks and rods. Everyone beat Kunaram until he died. Actually, Kunaram had brought a stay from the court on the plot on which there was a dispute going on between the two families regarding two feet of land. Even after this, his uncle Bhangchand’s family was doing construction there. On getting information, Kunaram reached there at 8:30 in the night to stop the construction work. He asked his uncle’s family to stop the construction, due to which angry relatives attacked him with sticks and rods. Kunaram suffered serious injuries on his head, hands and legs, due to which he died on the spot. When some people of the village reached there after the attack, the accused also beat them up.

Death of main accused, he got life imprisonment
Kunaram’s son Chhogaram Bawri filed a case against 11 accused after the incident. Meanwhile, the main accused Bhagchand has died, but the court found the remaining 10 accused guilty of murder and sentenced all of them to life imprisonment. The culprits include Andaram, Omaram, Kanaram, Khimaram, Rugaram, Papli Devi, Sohanlal, Suadevi, Seetadevi, and Pappuram.
Son said- Now we got justice
Kunaram’s son Lunaram Bawri expressed satisfaction over the court’s decision. He said that our family has fought for justice for 11 years. Now we have got justice, today is a happy day for our family, my father’s soul will rest in peace.
