Jaipur : Udaipur : The ‘man-eating’ leopard that created terror for 6 to 7 days in Chhali Gram Panchayat of Udaipur district of Rajasthan was caught on Tuesday. Not one but two leopards were caged in this. As soon as this news reached the villagers, their happiness knew no bounds, and they left all their work and reached to see the leopards. After this, forest department officials reached the spot, who sent both the leopards to Sajjangarh Biological Park by truck for health checkup.
A leopard’s hunting teeth broken
Doctors found in their examination that the teeth of both the leopards are worn out. While the hunting teeth of one leopard have been broken due to attacking humans. The ages of the two leopards are 13 years and 8 years. After this examination, a big question has arisen in front of the forest department that which of the two leopards is the hunter? Are both of them man-eaters or none of them? Currently, both the leopards are under the observation of the team of doctors of the forest department, where their health checkup is going on.
Old leopard injured in cage
Forest department officials said that the old leopard was struggling after getting trapped in the cage, due to which it also got injured. There are injuries on its face. Now the team of doctors of the department will decide after inspection whether both of them should be kept in the zoo or somewhere else. Here, the movement of leopards continues in different forest areas. Keeping this in mind, forest department teams are still deployed in Chhali Gram Panchayat. The cages are still installed. Today more teams will be there as a precaution. Then teams from different tehsils of the district will be sent.
3 people were killed in 6 days
Let us tell you that on September 18, a 16-year-old minor girl went to the forest to graze goats in Chhali Gram Panchayat of Gogunda Tehsil, who did not return till late night. After this, the villagers went to the forest to search for her, but could not find her. Her body was found on the hill on Thursday morning. There were marks of leopard attack on her body. After this, fear spread among the people. The leopard then attacked 45-year-old Khumaram and a 50-year-old woman, due to which they died. After this, the people of Chhali Gram Panchayat were in fear.
10 cages, 7 cameras and 80 employees
To catch the leopard, 80 employees were deployed on the ground in 7 different teams by the forest department. For this, about 10 cages and 7 trap cameras were installed. Every morning, the department’s team reached all the locations and was checking whether the leopard came into the cage or not. On Tuesday morning, the department’s team reached the same place where a leopard had attacked a 50-year-old woman. The department had installed two cages here at a distance of 500 meters. When the department’s team reached there, the leopard was found trapped in the first cage. When they looked in the second cage, there was a leopard there too. That means two leopards were trapped at the same location. Now both the leopards have been taken to Sajjangarh Biological Park.
