A unique campaign has been started to save the environment by not using single use plastic in weddings and other functions including birthdays in the city. Under this, guests at weddings are given plants of medicinal importance as well as fruits in the return git. -Shady plants are being given. This change has been seen in many weddings taking place in the city. Due to this, the income of nursery operators located in different areas of the city has also increased.

Attention to decoration and cleanliness also

In some wedding ceremonies and birthday events, decorations are being done with bio-degradable materials. Plastic utensils, plates and spoons etc. are being boycotted. In these events, giving priority to environment and health, steel utensils, paper cups and earthen pots are being used instead of plastic disposable items.

Tulsi plants given to wedding guests

The marriage of the son of Sikar Road resident Meghna Sharma took place on 29 November in a garden located on Sikar Road. He said that on the advice of family elders, Tulsi plants were given to the wedding guests. These plants will create a positive atmosphere in the house.

Message of giving green environment to the future generation

Pratap Nagar resident Vijay Sahu told that recently he had got his son married in a garden located in Pratap Nagar. Saplings were presented to the wedding attendees as return tickets. Along with this, a message was also given to cooperate in creating a green environment for the future generation.

Demand emanating from wedding season

Since Devuthani Ekadashi, there has been a demand for plants in the events held in the gardens continuously. People are gifting saplings worth up to Rs 20 to the guests. Tulsi and other plants have been sent to nearby gardens including ISKCON Road, Mansarovar, New Sanganer Road. Orders for more than a thousand plants are being received in a wedding.
