Jodhpur : The body of a teenager was found in suspicious circumstances near the temple at 12 mile Keru on Jaisalmer Highway under Rajiv Gandhi Nagar police station on Sunday morning. Accusing murder, the family and villagers sat on a dharna with the body on the spot amidst severe heat and humidity for various demands. After reaching an agreement in the evening, the post-mortem was conducted by the board in the mortuary of Mathuradas Mathur Hospital. Two youths were taken into custody. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Nishant Bhardwaj said that the body of Chetangiri (14) son of Heerpuri, resident of Keru, was found on the side of the highway near Baba Ramdev Temple in 12 mile area. The deceased’s father has registered a case of murder against unknown persons. Two youths are being questioned. The family, villagers and Goswami community sat on a dharna demanding immediate arrest of the murderers, post-mortem by medical board, financial assistance under the victim compensation scheme and ten lakh rupees from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. After talks with police and administrative officials, the family agreed to take the body at 5:30 in the evening. Police officer Devichand Dhaka says that a board was constituted and the body was handed over to the family after postmortem. Investigation is underway.
Murder by electric current or some other reason, death if you run after him
The family and villagers allege that the deceased Chetangiri left home late Saturday night after watching the final match of the T-20 World Cup. His body was found the next day, Sunday morning at 9 o’clock. The family alleges that he was kidnapped and then beaten up. He was killed by electrocution or strangulation. Then to hide the matter, the body was put in a sack and taken to 12 mile temple and thrown there. The police suspect that the deceased had gone to meet a classmate at his house in the village late at night. Hearing the sound, the family members woke up and shouted. Then Chetan ran away. He had kept current flowing in the field to protect him from cattle, where he got caught in the current. People who chased him took care of him and took him to the hospital, but when he died on the way, the body was put in a sack and thrown there. Investigation is being done from both aspects.
Agreement reached on these demands
Under the leadership of Sampat Poonia, the family members and the villagers sat on a dharna (protest) with the dead body at the spot. The Dashnam Goswami Samaj Sansthan (Rural Board) submitted a memorandum of demands to the Chief Minister. The demands were for the immediate arrest of the accused, financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakhs from the CM Relief Fund, post-mortem of the dead body by the board and compensation under the Victim Compensation Scheme. After talks with the police and administrative officials, an agreement was reached on immediate arrest, post-mortem by the board and financial assistance from the Victim Compensation Scheme. A proposal for providing financial assistance from the CM Relief Fund will be sent to the government.
Father is sad, brother is ill
The father of the deceased says that he works as a security guard. Son Chetan went out of the house after watching the match at 12 in the night. He woke up at one in the night, but Chetan was not seen. Chetan was not at home even till four in the morning on Sunday. In the morning, the father got busy with his work. Then the information of finding the son’s body was received. Deceased Chetan was studying in class tenth. Along with studies, he also used to do small jobs. He has a brother and a sister. The brother is said to be ill. As a precaution, a heavy police force was deployed at the crime scene. Crowds and police were seen everywhere from nine in the morning to six in the evening. Seeing this, people passing through the highway were scared. They feared some big dispute.
