Bundi : As per the instructions of Superintending Engineer KK Shukla, a special campaign was conducted on Tuesday by forming a total of 12 teams to arrest the increasing electricity theft in subdivisions Hindoli, Indragarh and Karwar. Apart from the thefts, the electricity connections disconnected due to dues were also investigated. Vigilance investigation reports were filled at all the places where electricity theft was found. A total of 114 cases of electricity theft were registered at different places by the said vigilance teams, on which a fine of Rs 22.41 lakh was imposed. If the fine amount is not deposited, an FIR will be registered against the electricity thieves and legal action will be taken as per rules.
63 people caught stealing electricity

Took action against those who stole. Illegal cable was removed on the spot and VCR was loaded, fine was imposed. Engineers of the corporation said that during the action, about 63 VCRs were filled, due to which a fine of about Rs 14 lakh was imposed. Earlier, the Electricity Corporation could not take action against electricity theft in Hindoli area. Now the officials of the Electricity Corporation are engaged in stopping electricity theft.
MLA expressed displeasure
Hindoli MLA Ashok Chandna expressed his displeasure over the Electricity Corporation catching cases of electricity theft in the area. And said that at the behest of the government, the corporation officials are making illegal recovery from the farmers in the name of filling VCR. Chandna said that the farmers and villagers of the area are living with a double whammy. The economic condition of the people has worsened considerably. Chandna has warned of protest, saying that the action being taken against farmers is wrong.
