Bundi damaged and burnt transformers started being picked up, premises started being evacuated.

Bundi : Bundi JVVNL started picking up damaged and burnt transformers from the Assistant Engineer office premises and sending them to the Superintendent Engineer office. Due to not being sent for repair on time, half the premises of the Assistant Engineer’s office was filled with damaged and burnt transformers. On Monday also, 38 transformers were sent to Bundi. The premises began to be evacuated by lifting the transformers. The remaining transformers will also be dispatched in two days. On November 29, after publishing a news titled ‘Premises clogged with damaged and burnt transformers’ and highlighting the issue of not picking up burnt transformers on time, JVVNL picked up 38 transformers in a single day. Officials have said that the remaining transformers will also be lifted by Wednesday.

The JVVNL Assistant Engineer office premises were littered with damaged and burnt transformers. Burnt transformers were coming daily from the villages, due to which they were not sent to be repaired on time, half the campus was filled with damaged and burnt transformers. Due to lack of record keeping of how many transformers were lying in the premises, Sanya could not be traced. Whereas there were 150 to 200 such transformers lying in the premises, which included transformers ranging from 10 to 25 KVA capacity. The condition of the campus was such that wherever one looked, only burnt transformers were visible.

Assistant Engineer says

JVVNL Assistant Engineer Manjul Govind says that till October 2024, 310 burnt and defective transformers were lying there and in the month of November, 140 were lying there. Of these, 108 transformers were sent to the Superintendent Engineer’s office in the month of October and 228 transformers in the month of November. Sent 38 transformers on Monday. The remaining 180 transformers will be sent by Wednesday.
