Bundi : Bundi: Financial crisis has arisen in front of 113 contractual lecturers working for years in various government colleges of the state. They have not been paid their salaries for the last 9 months, due to which it is becoming difficult for them to run their families. His outstanding amount is Rs 65 lakh 20 thousand 100. In such a situation, conducting studies away from home remains a challenge in many districts of the state. Regarding this, the Contract Lecturers have appealed from the Sangharsh Committee (College Education) Directorate to the Secretariat. Earlier, on a petition, the order given by the court to provide relief to the contractual lecturers was partially implemented by the Higher Education Department, but since then the matter is closed in the file.
Remuneration is Rs 57 thousand
Contract lecturers get a monthly honorarium of Rs 57 thousand 700. When there was a dispute regarding DA in the past, the contractual lecturer went to court. On this, orders were given to provide medical, HR, PL facilities along with DA, but now there is no information about the remuneration.
Will give only when permission comes from Commissionerate
Anita Mali has been teaching Botany at Bundi College since 2008. Lecturer Anita, a resident of Kota, said that she is facing problems due to non-payment of salary. Have to bear household expenses from family. Whereas music lecturer Ritu, resident of Ajmer, joined Bundi College on 13 January 2024. But now the remuneration has not been received. It’s been 11 months. Paying rent remains a challenge. DA has not been paid for a year. When we seek information about salary, we get only one answer – we will give it only when we get permission from the Commissionerate.
Difficulty in paying rent
Kamal Trivedi, a resident of Banswara district, who has been teaching music at Bundi Government College for two years, said that due to not getting remuneration for nine months, it is becoming difficult to meet his own expenses. A lot of efforts have been made but the hearing has not taken place till now. With the help of family members, they are providing services in some way. Even though the seat is vacant in Banswara district, yet Bundi has been planted so far here. The remuneration is Rs 57 thousand 700. Many letters have been sent through the Principal, yet no hearing is taking place.
I am getting only assurances
‘113 contractual lecturers in different districts of the state are not getting payment for nine months. We even reached the doors of the government several times, but got nothing except assurances. In such a situation, lecturers are facing financial crisis. There is anger in the committee. Feeling mentally worried regarding remuneration.
