Bundi : Bundi Medical-Health Department is celebrating Vasectomy Fortnight to increase the contribution of men in sterilization. Healthy mother, healthy child, when husband contributes in family planning will be the theme of the fortnight. The Vasectomy Fortnight, which started from 21st November, will continue till 4th December. Under this, mobilization took place in the first week. Service Delivery Week will be celebrated from November 28 to December 4. CMHO Dr. OP Samar said that women still mainly bear the responsibility of family planning. Men should have equal participation in family planning. In such a situation, in an effort to increase the participation of men, Vasectomy Fortnight is being organized till 27th November. Family welfare resources along with sterilization camps will be provided in the week from 28th November to 4th December.
ACMHO Dr. Mahendra Kumar Tripathi said that in the first phase, health workers will go door-to-door. Eligible couples are entitled to the benefits of having a limited family including the right age for marriage, first child at least two years after marriage, minimum gap of three years between first and second child. By providing complete information about post-natal family welfare services, men’s participation in family planning, post-abortion family welfare services and intra-injection, they will be motivated to benefit from these services. Dr. Tripathi said that vasectomy is the safest and easiest method. There is no need to get admitted for vasectomy.
