Bushra Bibi’s statement on Saudi Arabia created an uproar, when Imran came to the defense of his wife, the controversy increased.

Lahore, November 23 (IANS). Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, is on target of the ruling government and other political parties for her recent controversial statement about Saudi Arabia. The jailed founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had to clarify his wife’s statement, but this increased the controversy instead of reducing it.

The controversy started when Bushra Bibi recently released a video, in which she appealed to people to take to the streets on Sunday (November 24) against the ‘illegal imprisonment’ of her husband Imran Khan.

In the video, Bushra Bibi claimed that Saudi Arabia felt bad to see that Imran Khan had come barefoot on his visit to Madina. In this regard, several calls were made to the then Army Chief (Retd) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and concern was expressed that Khan was presenting himself as a representative of Islam and Sharia, while they (Saudis) were promoting it from their country. Are finishing.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif immediately reacted to this statement. Criticizing Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, he warned that any attempt to spoil relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will not be tolerated at all.

On the other hand, the PTI leadership said that since Bushra is not a political figure, his statement should not be considered party-related.

Senior PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen said, “Bushra Bibi’s statement has nothing to do with PTI.”

However, Imran Khan was seen supporting his wife’s words.

Speaking to the media from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Khan said that his wife has not taken the name of Saudi Arabia and her statement is being distorted to target MBS (Muhammad bin Salman) and Saudi Arabia.

Imran Khan’s clarification on his wife’s controversial statement gave his opponents more opportunity to attack. He accused both of them of running anti-state and anti-Pakistan agenda.

Punjab government spokesperson Azma Bukhari said, “Imran Khan did not refute what his wife said, in fact he supported her. Imran Khan, his party and his so-called non-political wife are on an anti-Pakistan agenda. They They are enemies of the country. They can go to any extent to harm the relations between our country and brotherly countries like Saudi Arabia.”

Speaking to reporters in Lahore on Saturday, he said, “The people of Pakistan have now seen the real faces of these two traitors. The so-called ‘Fitna Party’ is no longer acceptable to the nation.”
