By organizing a street play in Jaipur, people were made aware to wear helmets.

Jaipur : A unique effort by the Traffic Police in Jaipur to increase public awareness about road safety and traffic rules. The traffic police organized a street play at Gaurav Tower on Friday evening to create awareness about wearing helmets. Under the direction of DCP (East) Tejaswini Gautam, a self-composed and starring program was presented by Jaipur police personnel, the main message of which was ‘Helmet is necessary’. A street play was presented at Gaurav Tower under the chairmanship of Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph. In the street drama programme, an attempt was made to convey road safety rules and traffic discipline to the public in an effective and simple manner through the film songs ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke, Rab Jaane Kab and Tere Liye Sab Chhod Chhad Ke’. It stressed the importance of wearing helmets, following traffic signals, not driving at high speed and being alert on the road.

Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said that through these programs and street plays, Jaipur Police not only made the citizens aware but also motivated them to follow the traffic rules. Such street plays will also be performed from time to time in different areas of the city on different topics like women’s safety, drug de-addiction and cyber awareness. This initiative is an important step towards making Jaipur free and safe from road accidents.

Joseph said – Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Tejaswini Gautam has been appreciated across the country for her innovative initiatives in awareness of traffic rules, issues related to women safety, drink and drive and excellent work in policing. Along with this, Tejaswini Gautam has been selected to present before Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the topic “Innovation in Policing, Initiative and Best Practice in Transform Police” in the DGP and IGP conference being held in Bhubaneswar on 30th November.

At the end of the program, helmets were also distributed by Police Commissioner Joseph to the two-wheeler drivers who were issued challan by Jaipur Police for driving without helmets. Jaipur Police appeals to the public to follow traffic rules and ensure the safety of themselves and their families by adopting the message of “helmet is mandatory”. Additional Police Commissioner Administration Yogesh Dadhich, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sagar and senior police officers and general public were present in the program.
