Campaign to save every drop of water is praiseworthy: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav

New Delhi, December 5 (IANS). Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the ‘Karmabhoomi to Janmabhoomi’ scheme being run to develop underground water storage capacity by collecting rain water is an innovative initiative.

He said that under this scheme, the businessmen from other states living in Gujarat and doing business are doing business in their states with their own resources. Work under this scheme has started in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. It is a matter of happiness that the scheme has a target of installing 15,000 bores in the entire state. This campaign to save every drop of water, which is being run with the participation of traders doing business in Gujarat without government resources, is commendable.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met Union Jal Shakti Minister CR at Shram Shakti Bhawan in New Delhi on Thursday. Patil and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held a tripartite meeting on the effective implementation of the ‘Karmabhoomi to Janmabhoomi’ programme.

In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding appointing the District Collector as the nodal officer for the implementation of the scheme, completing the scheme in a quality and timely manner and removing the obstacles coming in its implementation.

The Union Jal Shakti Minister said that in order to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s water harvesting resolution a mass movement, the ‘Karmabhoomi to Janmabhoomi’ program has been envisaged. In this, businessmen from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar living in Gujarat are arranging bores for the purpose of water harvesting in their native land.

The Union Minister said that in this, 1.60 lakh bores are to be done in Rajasthan and 15,000 in Madhya Pradesh. It has been decided to have 4 bores in each village in 10 districts of Bihar state. He expressed hope for successful implementation of this scheme with the cooperation of the states.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that this scheme, started by the businessmen of Surat on the initiative of Prime Minister Modi, has been started in Sirohi and Jodhpur districts of Rajasthan. He expressed hope that this scheme will prove to be a boon for cooperation in water recharge in the state of Rajasthan.
