Case registered against retired executive engineer for possessing disproportionate assets

Chittorgarh : ACB Chittorgarh Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh has registered a case of disproportionate assets against the then Executive Engineer (recently retired) of Chittorgarh Urban Development Trust, Bhilwara.
Deputy Inspector General of Anti-Corruption Bureau, Rajendra Prasad Goyal said that on December 3, 2020, the then Superintending Engineer Urban Development Trust, Bhilwara Rameshwar Prasad Sharma, Executive Engineer Satish Kumar Sharda, Assistant Engineer Brahmalal Sharma, being public servants, misused their position and obtained unethical benefits through collusion. The complainant had demanded bribe amount in lieu of paying the bills for the construction works done by Rahul Dad’s firm M/s Shyamlal Dad.

A case was registered regarding taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant during the trap and the charge sheet was presented in the Special Court, Prevention of Corruption Act, Sessions Court, Bhilwara. During the trap operation, search of the house and establishments of Satish Kumar Sharda, resident of RC Vyas Colony, Bhilwara, revealed that the legal income of accused Sharda during the period from 9 March 2000 to 3 December 2020 was Rs 1 crore twenty-five lakh.

While his assets include investment in a total of 25 FDRs in various banks, investment in Khushal Security, PPF account in Indian Post Office, investment in four fixed deposit accounts, investment in SBI, life insurance policy, HDFC Insurance policy, bank savings account, The total amount of purchase of 06 plots, car and other assets in the name of wife Jyotsna Sharda was found to be more than Rs 3 crore, which is about 200 percent more than the known source income. A case has been registered against the accused Sharda by the Additional Superintendent of Police of ACB Chittorgarh under the Prevention of Corruption Act in relation to disproportionate assets.
