Bundi : CBI action continues against gravel mafia in Bundi, Rajasthan. The CBI team is continuously investigating the hideouts and checkpoints of the mafia in the district. Two years ago, the police had arrested a person from the district in the case of illegal gravel. After some time, the court handed over the investigation of this case to CBI. Regarding this matter, CBI has now reached Talab village and is taking statements from door to door of people and truck drivers associated with gravel business.
After this the team reached the Circuit House and the process of taking statements of different people continued there too. During this time, officers associated with Sadar police station and mining department were present with the team.
CBI is conducting door-to-door inquiries
According to the information, a truck driver named Jabbar, resident of Talab village of Bundi, was arrested by Bundi police in the gravel case. Considering this as a serious matter, the Rajasthan High Court handed over the investigation of the entire matter to the CBI. After which, for the first time on April 27, CBI entered this entire matter and started investigation. Since then, the CBI team is busy investigating the records of gravel businessmen and mafia in various areas including Bundi, Bhilwara, Tonk, Deoli.
The case was registered in 2023
In the year 2023 October, during the blockade on Ramganj Balaji Four Lane, Sadar Police Station had stopped a truck loaded with gravel, which was confiscated due to incomplete documents. After this, the police registered a case under the Motor Vehicle Act and MRD Act.
After registering the case, when the police presented the arrested truck driver in the Bundi District Court, the court rejected his bail plea while making a strong comment on the matter of gravel transportation.
Along with this, the District Judge had instructed the Rajasthan Government and the Principal Secretary of the Mining Department to take strict action in the matter and ban the transportation. After the bail petition was rejected, the gravel mafia had filed a bail petition in the High Court. Where the High Court considered the entire matter serious and gave instructions to hand over the investigation of the case to CBI.
