Mumbai, December 4 (IANS). There was a massive celebration outside the BJP district central office in Thane after the name of Devendra Fadnavis was approved for the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
On this special occasion, the workers expressed their happiness by distributing laddus. After the success of BJP in the assembly elections, all the party workers are fully prepared for the upcoming municipal elections.
In the legislature party meeting held on Wednesday in Mumbai, Devendra Fadnavis’s name was selected as the leader of the legislature party. Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar proposed his name which was seconded by Pankaja Munde.
The top leadership had sent Union Finance Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Vijay Rupani as observers. Devendra Fadnavis was elected the leader of the legislative party in his presence. Both of them congratulated Fadnavis by giving them bouquets.
Devendra Fadnavis has been elected the leader of the legislative party, 11 days after the assembly election results were announced.
He will take oath as Chief Minister at Azad Maidan in Maharashtra on Thursday. He is going to become CM for the third time.
Vijay Rupani, appointed as an observer for the legislature party meeting, requested senior party leaders to put forward their respective proposals for the post of Chief Minister.
Maharashtra BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “We have fought this historic election under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis. Mahayuti has achieved a historic victory. We are doing our best to take Maharashtra to the number one position with the help of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Kind of committed.”
