CET exam candidate forced to undress, this matter heated up in Janeu, Rajasthan

Jaipur : The issue of getting the candidate to remove the sacred thread has gained momentum. Vipra Foundation has demanded action from the government. The candidate has complained about this to CM Bhajanlal Sharma. Chairman of Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Alok Raj wrote on social media ‘X’, “I came to know from the media in the evening that a case of some candidate wearing ‘Janeu’ in the exam has come to light at the CET exam center yesterday (September 28). It was wrong to take off the sacred thread, but I don’t think the teacher misinterpreted it as per his duty. Will not be taken.

The sacred thread was taken down at the exam center in Jaipur.
During the CET examination on Saturday (September 29) in Jaipur, when the policemen asked a candidate to take off his sacred thread for checking before entering the examination centre, the candidate refused. Later this matter reached the superintendent of the examination center i.e. the school principal. The Principal also asked the candidate to enter the examination center only after taking off the sacred thread. In such a situation the candidate had to remove the sacred thread.

The candidate had come from Banswara to Jaipur to appear for the exam.
Candidate Daren Dave is a resident of Talwara, Banswara. He had come to appear for CET exam on 27th September. The exam center was in Mahatma Gandhi School near Tonk Gate, Jaipur. His exam was in the second innings. Reached the center at 3 pm. Policemen were checking the candidates. Haren Dave’s police asked him to remove the sacred thread during checking.

When the principal also asked, the answer was sought in writing.
When Haren Dave refused to take off the sacred thread, the matter reached the school principal. When the principal also asked him to take off the sacred thread, the candidate insisted on giving it in writing. The dispute continued for a long time. Later the candidate had to appear for the Janeu Utkar examination.

Demanded action against the principal and policeman
Candidate Haren Dave told the media that guidelines have been set for the State Staff Selection Board examinations. After this the sacred thread was taken down. Complained about this to Vipra Foundation. After this, he also complained to the CM through the online helpline number. Demanded action against the policeman and the principal.
