Cheating in competitive exams will be curbed, OMR sheet with computer, know what is ‘hybrid’ system

Jaipur : Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) will now conduct all competitive examinations in hybrid mode. Guidelines have been issued regarding that. This system will be applicable in the upcoming competitive examinations of RSSB in Rajasthan. Under this system, the question paper will come on the computer and the OMR sheet will be filled offline. According to the guidelines issued by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board on Wednesday, some upcoming examinations will be conducted through CBT-cum-OMR mode, in which the questions will appear on the computer screen, while the candidate will have to answer them on the offline OMR sheet.

One question will appear on the screen at a time.

According to the guidelines, only one question will be displayed on the computer screen at a time. The remaining procedure in the CBT-cum-OMR mode exam will be the same as for the offline exam. The guidelines state that the candidate will have to sign the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator.

‘Steps taken to prevent cheating and paper leak’

There are 31 different exams to be held from July to January, which include the exams of Junior Instructor, Animal Veterinarian, Women Officer and LDC. Apart from this, 30 exams of National Health Mission are also to be held in the coming days. Earlier, Alok Raj, Chairman of Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), had said that the board is taking this step to fix the loopholes in this system. This will prevent paper leaks and cheating.

The whole system will be encrypted

Several sets of papers are being prepared to avoid paper leak. No one will know till the last moment which paper will be given. Apart from this, a new experiment is being done for the first time that the paper will be given on the computer half an hour before the exam at all the exam centers through CBT, which will be encrypted. However, in such a process, there is a risk of hacking the paper through remote access. To deal with this challenge, a hybrid system is being adopted. That is, the paper will be on the computer, but the candidate will have to solve the paper on the OMR sheet.
