Jaisalmer : Tourists are being cheated by online booking of resorts in Jaisalmer’s famous tourist destination Some Sand Dunes. Such fake tent resorts are being shown on travel websites which do not actually exist on the ground. Police have registered a case against 73 such fake resorts. Along with this, the police has also written to the companies listing resorts on various online platforms including Booking.com, agoda, make my trip, trip advisor, yatra.com to remove such fake resorts from the website. It is noteworthy that in In reality there are around 150 resorts, but more than 400 are shown on different online websites. Here even Google cheats. The resort is also being described as being on vacant land, while in reality there is nothing there. In such a situation, the tourists coming here are becoming victims of fraud by booking resorts online.
Location set from Google post letter
The people running fake resorts are so clever that they have even set the location of the resort on Google Map. By post letter also comes from Google, but these people get this letter from the post deliverer and get their location set. In place of another resort, the location of one’s own resort is set up on some vacant land.
There are 150 resorts in Sama, their number on Google Map is 400.
Jaisalmer SP Sudhir Chaudhary said – Those running fake resorts listed on travel websites also, in their cunning way, get the representatives of travel websites listed by pretending to be other resorts. There are many fake resorts listed on these websites. Whereas these resorts do not exist on the ground. Many such comments from travelers will also be found on these websites. Due to which he has clearly written that the booking was in the name of another resort and he was accommodated somewhere else. This clearly means that the fraudsters have got fake resorts listed and when bookings are received, they are sold to some other resort.
Case registered on report of some camp and resort welfare
SP Sudhir Chaudhary said – Sam Camp and Resort Welfare Society had demanded to stop the deteriorating image of Sam. Regarding this, Sam Camp and Resort Welfare Society had given a memorandum to Collector Pratap Singh demanding strict action against online fake resorts in Sam. The society said in the memorandum that the resorts visible online do not exist on the ground. In such a situation, tourists reach Sam by booking online but do not find any resort there. Kailash Vyas, President of Sam Camp and Resort Welfare Society, said – Many fake resorts are listed on various online websites. In reality, there is no resort on the ground with this name or at this location. In such a situation, tourists are getting cheated every day by falling prey to this fraud. Strictest action was demanded against such fake resorts.
Case registered against 73 fake resorts, booking sites also written
Jaisalmer SP Sudhir Choudhary said – On the basis of the welfare report, a case has been registered against the fake resort being shown online. Along with this, these fake resorts are located on various online platforms including Booking.com, agoda, make my trip, trip advisor, yatra.com, we have also written to those companies to remove them. The police will not spare such fraudsters under any circumstances.
