Dehradun, 8 December (IANS). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday announced the beginning of the winter Chardham Yatra along with offering prayers at Omkareshwar Temple, the winter seat of the world famous Kedarnath Dham in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Rudraprayag on a two-day visit. On Sunday, the second day of his visit, the Chief Minister has given a big gift to Uttarakhand and announced to start the 12-month-long Chardham Yatra.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday formally announced the Char Dham Yatra from Ukhimath, the winter seat of Kedar Baba. Voices have been raised for a long time in Uttarakhand regarding Chardham winter yatra.
With the start of winter Chardham Yatra, travelers from India and abroad will come to Uttarakhand throughout the year for darshan. This will also benefit the economy of the local people there.
On this occasion, Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal, BKTC President Ajendra Ajay, BJP District President Mahavir Panwar, Tirtha Purohit and a large number of local people were present.
He said, “Any journey is successful only when our efforts make its path smooth and its organization continues over time. Similarly, now all arrangements are being made to ensure that our Yatra continues for 12 months and people keep coming here every month. We are also giving necessary instructions to everyone for this, and in a way it has already started. We pray to God to bless us to continue this journey.”
He further said, “This visit will definitely prove to be a game changer in the times to come. Also, our other religious places like Garib Narayan, Kartik Swami, and Chardham etc. will also be developed under a master plan. Along with these places, we will also take forward other places like Purani Kashi, Maharaj Ji, Deoria Tal under development.”
