Beijing, December 9 (IANS). China’s consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.2 percent in November this year compared to the same period last year. The growth rate was 0.1 percent in urban areas and 0.2 percent in rural areas. Food prices rose 1 percent, while non-food prices remained stable.
Consumer goods prices remained stable and service prices increased by 0.4 percent. However, CPI was 0.6 percent lower in November compared to October. Food prices declined by 2.7 percent, and non-food prices declined by 0.1 percent.
Prices of consumer goods and services declined 0.7 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively. According to the data, in November this year, the prices of some food items saw a significant increase compared to last year, with fresh vegetables increasing by 10 percent, meat by 2.4 percent and aquatic products by 1.8 percent.
In contrast, prices of cereals and fresh fruits declined by 1.1 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively.
