Beijing, December 11 (IANS). Chinese Consul General in Kolkata Xu Wei participated in the India International Trade Show organized by the India Chamber of Commerce. He was invited to the event and was accompanied by organizer and Nepali Consul General Jhakka Prasad Acharya. He visited various booths displaying household goods, clothing, agricultural products and handicrafts and interacted with the exhibitors with great interest.
During the event, Consul General Shu met India Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President Naresh Pachisia and General Secretary Keka Sarma. Consul General Xu stressed the significant market potential between China and India.
He said the Consulate General is dedicated to promoting economic and trade exchanges between China and Eastern India and welcomes more high-quality Indian products for export to China. He also expressed desire for closer economic cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.
Naresh Pachisia said that West Bengal serves as a gateway to South East Asia and neighboring countries, highlighting its important role in facilitating trade exchanges. He expressed hope that Chinese manufacturers will participate in exhibitions in India in future. India Chamber of Commerce is committed to act as a bridge to enhance cooperation between the two countries in sectors like textiles, biotechnology and agriculture.
