Chinese people are spending more time on online activities and fitness

Beijing, November 19 (IANS). A survey conducted by China’s National Bureau of Statistics shows that Chinese people spend more time on online activities and fitness exercises than before, driven by the widespread use of smartphones, tablets and wearable devices. Individuals’ average daily online time reached 5 hours and 37 minutes, an increase of 2 hours and 55 minutes compared to 2018.

The survey shows that the current participation rate in sports and fitness activities among Chinese residents is 49.6%, an increase of 18.7 percentage points from 2018. The report also shows that due to the rise of smart home, takeaway and housekeeping services, Chinese people spend an average of 1 hour and 59 minutes a day on household chores, 28 minutes less than in 2018.

At the same time, the average time spent shopping every day is 43 minutes, which shows the convenience that online shopping brings to people’s lives. Compared with six years ago, the time spent on household chores has decreased, reflecting the continued enrichment of smart home application scenarios and the recognition of household services such as takeout and housekeeping.

Participation rates in fitness activities have increased, reflecting the increasing health awareness of residents. The proportion of residents making online purchases and the time spent using the Internet has increased significantly, which reflects the rapid development of Internet technology and the prosperity of e-commerce in recent years, and digital life has gradually become a trend.
